Samsung UbiSync Monitor

Samsung's UbiSync

Samsung has finally introduced the world’s first USB-connected display, which they claim needs no graphics card. The best part, it looks as though it can handle multiple monitors. Here’s what Engadget had to say:

“Well, Samsung is now telling us that their newly dubbed UbiSync technology will allow for up to 6 — not a mere “3 or 5″ — of their 19-inch displays to wrap their loving arms around you when daisy-chained from a single USB port on your PC. It can also apparently be configured such that each monitor has it’s own USB cable-run back to the PC.”

The UbiSync LCD monitor has a 19-inch 1280×1024 display that uses a software graphics adapter instead of the traditional PCI powered graphic card. The UbiSync downloads the software adapter to the PC when it is plugged into a USB 2.0 port.

Engaget had an inside look at Samsung’s UbiSync monitor rig when SamSung demo’d it for them at CeBit. Check it out >>
